Description
Presenting our Apple Wood Breakfast Bowl. A beautifully handcrafted piece that highlights the warmth, colour and character of one of Britain’s most prized fruitwoods. Jon Baily turns each bowl by hand in his Cambridgeshire workshop, allowing the natural beauty of the timber to take centre stage.
Apple wood brings a remarkable range of colours to this bowl, from warm honey tones to rich reddish-browns. As the grain flows around the form, it creates striking patterns and subtle variations that make every bowl unique. No two pieces of apple wood are ever the same, giving each bowl its own individual character.
Measuring 15cm in diameter and 7cm high, this bowl is perfectly suited to porridge, cereal, fruit, yoghurt, soups and desserts. Its gently curved shape feels comfortable in the hand while providing ample capacity for everyday use.
Jon finishes the bowl with pure tung oil. This natural polymerising oil that enriches the colour of the timber and enhances the depth of the grain. This durable, food-safe finish makes the bowl suitable for both hot and cold foods while allowing the natural beauty of the wood to shine through.
The rich colours and flowing grain patterns make this bowl a pleasure to use and display. With simple hand washing and occasional re-oiling, it will continue to develop character and remain a practical and attractive part of daily life for many years.
Whether you use it for breakfast each morning or display it as part of a collection of handcrafted woodenware, this Apple Wood Breakfast Bowl combines traditional craftsmanship, practical design and the enduring beauty of natural timber.
