Welcome to our greenwood courses, where you can learn the ancient craft of working with greenwood to create beautiful and functional objects. When using traditional hand tools, greenwood is softer and easier to use than seasoned timber. Greenwood is perfect for carving, turning, and shaping by hand. Our courses are designed for anyone interested in learning about the unique properties of greenwood and how to use it to create beautiful and functional objects. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced woodworker, our courses offer a hands-on experience that will deepen your knowledge and appreciation for this ancient craft.

Bowl Turning Taster Sessions
Experience the Art of Bowl Turning in a Fun and Friendly Environment
Are you curious about bowl turning but not sure if it’s the right hobby for you? My bowl-turning taster sessions perfectly introduce this ancient craft using traditional techniques and have proven to be one of the more popular greenwood courses I run.
During each taster session, I invite up to five people to join me for an introduction to bowl turning. You will have the opportunity to work on a communal bowl using greenwood on a traditional pole-lathe. At the end of the day, all participants’ names are put into the bowl, and one name is drawn out. The winner takes the bowl home as a memento of their experience.
This taster session is ideal for those new to bowl turning. As pole-lathe turning can be quite physical, it offers a fun and friendly environment where you can learn the basics of bowl turning and decide if it’s a hobby that interests you.
Check the bowl-turning taster session dates and join me for a fun and unique experience that will introduce you to the art of bowl-turning using traditional methods.
